October Newsletter

Another school year is off and running and we are quickly approaching the midway portion of the first semester.  I’m excited to report that our enrollment is around 288 students which is up slightly from this time last year.

Meadow ISD has been working diligently on our communication with parents and community.  We have revamped our website to be more user friendly and have created a “Meadow ISD App” that we can constantly inform Bronco Nation on what we have going on.  If you have a cell phone I want to encourage you to go to your app store and download the app.  Simply in your search bar type Meadow ISD and it should become available.  You will be able to view our live feed, school news, and our upcoming events.

We are also excited about the library in the Old High School that we have converted into a modern day 21st century media center.  We have been able to initially use the room for the following activities:

  1. Professional Development for our staff
  2. A superintendent roundtable with 8 neighboring superintendents
  3. Dual Credit courses through South Plains College
  4. Traditional Library for book checkouts
  5. Junior High Technology App class/projects
  6. Small Group instruction
  7. Group Online Testing

As always we have many activities going on:  football is approaching the midway point and our teams are having a very good year at all levels; cross country is also working hard and will have their district meet later this month; our FFA showers are in the process of purchasing projects for this year; our FCCLA are working on individual projects; our junior high and elementary UIL teams are working on their contests that will be at the first part of November.

God Bless,

Darrian Dover
