Today, our entire school got to witness Triston Clanton and Eddie Garcia being sworn in to the United States Army. These two young men made the selfless decision to protect and fight for our freedom. Meadow is so proud of you both and can't wait to see what you will do in your futures. Be all that you can be! A special thank you goes to Sergeant Jordan, and Lieutenant Metcalf for allowing us to have this special moment for these boys.

Families and friends: It is my great honor to announce that we have two seniors enlisting in the Army this year. We are throwing a celebration for them on March 5th at 12:30 in the gym and would like to invite all to come. Joining the military is a huge decision and we want to show Triston and Eddie our appreciation for their dedication to serving our country. Please join us if you can!

Meadow Alumni, Christian Herrera, came home to talk about civil engineering with the 4th and 5th graders. He is currently an engineer with Garver. He and colleagues Jimma Benton, Samantha Lee, and Joshua Curtsinger presented on the many aspects of civil engineering. The students were then divided into groups and were presented with the challenge of constructing a bridge using gum drops and toothpicks. Each bridge was then weighted with marbles until collapse to see how sturdy each structure was. The students were up to the challenge and built bridges that could bear a lot of weight. Great job, Broncos! And thank you to Christian, Jimma, Samantha, and Joshua for bringing a great experiential learning activity to Meadow!

Meadow High School will host the 5-1A District Literary Meet on Wednesday, March 26th. This will require a calendar change. We will return to school from Spring Break on Monday, March 24th. We will not have school on the day of the UIL meet. Although it is unusual to have the day off in the middle of the week, the STAAR testing calendar required us to change the date of the UIL meet. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Please contact the superintendent's office or your campus principal's office if you have questions. Thank you.

We will be taking the Fan Bus tomorrow (Tuesday 2/18) to support the Meadow Broncos🏀 in the playoff game in Tahoka! Grades eligible to ride the bus are 2nd grade and up! Game time is at 7pm in Tahoka. Fan Bus will leave the school at 6:15 and each fan must bring their own money for entry and for concession stand. We are limited on space in the fan bus so we ask that if parents are attending the game to please take your children with you so that those who do not have transportation to the game have a spot available on the fan bus.
